What if the change you're resisting is actually a gift?

Let's be honest: change can feel terrifying. That pit in your stomach. The tightness in your chest. The part of you that wants to freeze and make it all go away.
Most of us are taught that change is "bad." That if we can't control it, we've failed somehow. I lived with that belief for years — clinging to what felt safe, even when it wasn't making me happy.
Here's what I learned along the bumps and bruises: change isn't the enemy. Resisting it is.
When I stopped running from change and started embodying it — actually feeling it in my body instead of just spinning stories in my head — something unlocked. The shame I'd been carrying for years? It started to dissolve. The weight of "not enough"? Lighter. The fear of what others would think? Still there sometimes, but not running the show.
Change whispered: There's more for you. Trust me.
And my body became my guide.
Now, creating my life is so much more fun than it has ever been. ✨
Here's my invitation for you:
Instead of asking, "How do I control this?" try asking:
"Body, what do you know about this change? What's the gift hiding here?"
And hey, fellow control freaks? 🙋‍♀️ You don't have to see the whole staircase—just the next step.
What's one change that could be a gift in disguise?
I'd love to hear your reflections.
With gratitude, Betsy
