Your body isn't judging you

For so long, I hated my body and actually believed my body hated me, too. I thought we were at odds with each other.
After years of yo-yo dieting, self-blame, and trying to "fix" myself, I was sure my body must be furious at me. How could it not be? I'd ignored it, forced it, punished it.
Then one day — in a quiet moment I'll never forget — I asked my body:
How can you not judge me for all of this?
And what I felt back was simple, stunning, and life-changing:
I'm here and it's all ok.
No conditions. No lectures. No "when you finally get your act together."
Just: I'm here and it's all ok.
My body wasn't judging me at all.
It wasn't holding grudges. It wasn't saying, "You're too much" or "You'll never get it right."
The gift of this is hard to put into words.
What if your body has never judged you either?
What if it's been your fiercest ally all along — quietly adapting, carrying you, keeping you alive, even when you've doubted it?
Today, try this:
Right now, put a hand on your heart or belly. Take a slow breath.
Whisper out loud: Body, thank you for being here with me.
Notice what shows up. A warmth? A softness? Even just a tiny exhale of relief?
You don't have to earn your body's love. You already have it.
And you don't have to do this alone. We're all learning to listen more, judge less, and walk forward together.
I'm curious:
What's one kind thing you can say to your body today?
I'd love to celebrate your brilliance with you.
With gratitude, Betsy
